Ray of Hope Community School, Kakubansiri, Lugazi, Uganda
David and Margaret started this school after they planted a church in Kakubansiri village from Lugazi Pentecostal Church. One again, in a rural village situation many parents cannot afford fees. Hope for Lugazi Uganda & UK have stepped in and built two blocks of classrooms and are currently building a block for teachers to live in.
In 2018 a further piece of land was bought so that eventually a school hall could be built and other wooden structures can be replaced with permanent structures.
Although running the day to day school, Margaret is not qualified as a teacher and so to make the school line up with the government’s requirements, Margaret has put a young man, Charles, forward to get help to further his career and after further training take his place as Headmaster. He will be signing an agreement that he will not move schools for five years after he has received the training.
A Hope for Lugazi supporter recently gave enough funds for 20 pairs of school shoes to be bought and distributed.
